CDC/PEPFAR - Partnership for Advanced Care and Treatment (PACT) Project:

Sub-recipient to the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Geographic focus: 1.5 million people living in Nairobi County and city of Kenya, with a primary focus on PLHIV in 53 HIV treatment facilities. Project achievements: (1) Enhanced capacity of City County Government management to own, manage, and steward HIV service delivery and for a sustained HIV response; (2) Hired and managed more than 100 Health Care Workers (HCWs) with critical skills for HIV service delivery, addressing HRH capacity gaps; (3) Established system for hiring and managing project site staff through the county for sustainability; and (4) Embedded a strong multi-disciplinary technical improvement team from Health Strat to the county, thus strengthening and improving quality of HIV prevention, care, and treatment services within facilities This increased access to HIV testing, resulting in 93% ART uptake and 88% viral suppression.
