Health Strat worked with the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) to measure county performance at achieving health as a human right in line with the new constitution.  This exercise was carried out using Health Strat’s customized Qualicare 360 Health Systems Assessment Tool and results from this exercise in Busia County enabled the County to revise its County Integrated Development Plan to lay more emphasis on the health access gaps identified through the assessment. A similar exercise was conducted in Turkana County working in conjunction with AMREF and Tullow Oil Company, and in Migori County working with Family AIDS Care and Educational Services (FACES) Program and the County Health Management Team. In Turkana, the assessment revealed severe gaps in health physical infrastructure, human resource for health, and service delivery. This report was used by Tullow Oil Company and the county to determine health needs that required support through the company social responsibility program. The assessment for the FACES HIV program in Migori and Nairobi counties was to evaluate mid-term progress in their five-year project in the two counties. The results of the assessment highlighted strengths and gaps in program implementation and was used to inform change of strategy in the project’s endeavor to meet its set out end term goals and objectives.
